Weed Garden was a weekly discussion group. Topics included things like current events, politics, philosophy, psychology, economics, culture, or whatever caught our fancy. This was our group blog. PLEASE note than the rest of us in the group did not necessarily agree with the opinions any one of us posted here.
Yes but the problem for some of our group is they don't see the hypocrisy of Israel , if these tee-shirts were being done by Palestinian group Israel would demand that they be removed, burned and the company destroy and all the people who made them shot to death.
We all tend to seek out and focus on information that fits well with what we already think. In psychology and cognitive science, that is called "confirmation bias." This a tendency that is common to every human being. I would pay much less attention to the kind of thing that FIJ writes about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict or that is found on sites like Littlegreenfootballs, if it were not for the repeated postings of this stuff on the blog. Honestly, much of it angers and disgusts me, so I am motivated to ignore it. You've seen his reactions to many of my views and my preferred sources of information. It's very similar, rage and disgust. This is the source of many of the problems we have in these debates.
